UF Dropbox Service Reminder: Incoming Faculty

UF Dropbox for Education is available for all faculty and staff, and has proved a useful tool for UF personnel in the year since its implementation. UF Dropbox enables academic and research collaboration using the same easy interface and functionality as Dropbox Personal and Dropbox Business, allowing collaborators to easily share files with peers the world over.

Faculty and staff members at UF receive access through their affiliation with the university, and may sign up for the service on the https://cloud.it.ufl.edu/uf-dropbox/ website. The signup process requires watching a short training video, which outlines what sort of data may be stored in UF Dropbox – the service is not for personal use, but does allow for the storage of some types of restricted data. Student researchers that need to collaborate with faculty can request sponsorship for UF Dropbox through the faculty member.

More information regarding this service, including student sponsorship guidance and specific data use restrictions, is available on the UF Dropbox FAQ page. Any person that needs assistance creating or using their UF Dropbox account may contact the UF Computing Help Desk for 24/7 support at (352) 392-4357.
