Position Title: Batch Scheduling and System Support
TEAMS Level: Unix Administrator
University of Florida Research Computing (UFRC) is seeking a Linux system administrator. This individual chosen will have primary responsibility for supporting the batch scheduling environment within the High-Performance Computing Center with the goal of maintaining high utilization rates, reasonable response times, and flexible scheduling policies. Additional system administration and support tasks within Research Computing may also be assigned.
We are looking for an energetic individual who is willing and eager to learn new things and to work in an environment of rapidly changing technologies as a member of a dynamic team of eight dedicated professionals within Research Computing. The successful candidate will be motivated, hard-working, and capable of working with minimal supervision.
A degree in any field of science or engineering and at least two years of experience in computer systems administration is required. Experience with Linux as well as proficiency in at least one common scripting language is required. Programming experience will be looked upon favorably. Experience with scheduling software, in particular Moab from Adaptive Computing, is a plus but is not required. We will provide training as necessary to the successful candidate.
The position is a TEAMS position with expected salary range from $40,000 to $70,000 depending on experience.
