During the UF winter break Dec 16, 2013 through January 3, 2014, Research Computing will operate with reduced support levels. This is to allow the staff to take well-deserved time off after a very intense year that brought a new data center, a faster research network and connection to the Internet, and HiPerGator.
The compute, storage, and network systems will by fully operational and can be used as normal. When problems develop, they will be addressed as soon as possible.
The reduction in service levels will be as follows:
– No new investments for cores or storage will be processed.
– No new software will be installed.
– No requests for advanced user support will be processed.
Normal operations will resume on January 6, 2013
