The maintenance period continues. On Thursday morning all power was cut to the cluster, and for the first time in many years all was quiet in the server room. Research Computing staff immediately started work on various tasks that have been waiting for this moment, which included:

• Receiving the new compute node racks for HiPerGator 3.0
• Upgrading the core Infiniband switches to HDR switches, which will improve network performance across the cluster. This resulted in the restructuring of hundreds of Infiniband cables throughout the cluster.
• Cleanup of various infrastructure racks that could not be touched during regular operation.

At this time the cluster is still unavailable for use, as there are still some other outstanding tasks that need to be completed prior to opening the system to our users.
